Holidays in Cairns

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world and is teaming with marine life and dotted with the tropical Whitsunday Islands. As one of seven natural wonders of the world it's a must see destination. 

Apart from the great barrier reef, another must see on your cairns holiday is the Daintree Rainforest which can be found only a short journey from cairns city centre; take a day trip out to Cape Tribulation, known as Cape Trib to locals, where the rainforest meets the reef with mountains covered in dense rainforest that are packed with hundreds of different species of plants and animals. About an hour’s drive away, you will find yourself in one of the prettiest coastal towns, Port Douglas; spend the day wandering the streets, relaxing in a café in the Marina or walk up toe Flagstaff Hill for amazing views over Four Mile beach. If you are travelling to Cairns on a family holiday, make sure you take the time to visit the Scenic Kuranda Railway which winds its way through dense rainforest and past 250m high water falls and finishes at the small town of Kuranda. Take the skyrail back for a more bird’s eye view of the rainforest and stop off at the viewing points and walk along the walkways.
